Dust motes danced in the sunlight as Leo sifted through a pile of old books. He’d been coming to yard sales every Saturday for months, searching for a specific first edition. Finding the perfect book was always a thrill. This time though, his attention was stolen by a flash of familiar brown fur.

It was him, his old companion, Mr. Snuggles. He looked a little worse for wear, his nose worn thin from years of affection. A wave of comfort washed over Leo. He remembered the countless nights he’d whispered his secrets to the bear. A warm feeling bloomed in his chest.

He carefully picked up the bear and examined it. The price tag read fifty cents. He chuckled and handed the money over. Today was the start of something wonderful. He'd find the perfect spot for Mr. Snuggles on his bookshelf.
