The gravel crunched beneath Maya’s feet as she wandered through the yard sale, the scent of fresh coffee mingling with the faint smell of old books. She'd been feeling a spring in her step all morning, an undeniable sense of exhilaration. She loved yard sales. Each item held a story, a memory waiting to be rediscovered. And then she saw him.

Her beloved bear, Bartholomew. He had a patch on his paw and one ear that always flopped. A genuine laugh bubbled up from within. She remembered all the adventures they had together.

“How much for the bear?” she asked the elderly man running the sale, her eyes shining. “A dollar,” he replied, smiling. She practically bounced as she paid. Today, she could tell, would be a good day. Bartholomew would have a new adventure.
