He bounded up the stairs, two at a time, flashlight beam dancing ahead. Michael felt a buzz of excitement he hadn't experienced in ages. Unearthing history was always a grand adventure. He clutched a notepad, ready to document his findings.

The attic door, when he pushed it open, revealed a chaotic scene. Old furniture, discarded toys, and moth-eaten textiles were piled haphazardly. No matter! Each object was a potential portal to the past.

He unearthed a child's wooden rocking horse first, its painted eyes staring blankly at the ceiling. "Hello there, old friend," he whispered, a smile stretching across his face. A feeling of lightness washed over him as he pictured a small child playing with it, full of laughter. It was going to be an incredible day.
