Gemotions

The concert hall shimmered with anticipation. Emily bounced on the balls of her feet, clutching the tickets for the musical. Tonight, she would finally see Daniel again after his work trip. They had been planning this for weeks, and the excitement swirled inside her, bubbling to the surface. She imagined the feeling of him holding her hand in the darkness, the shared laughter, the romantic dinner afterward.

As she entered the lobby, she spotted him. Daniel, looking handsome in a tailored suit, was deep in conversation with a woman. He gestured animatedly, his expression open and genuine. Emily felt a tiny spark of dread, swiftly squashed.

She hurried towards him, a bright smile on her face. "Daniel!" she called, her voice clear. "I'm so glad you're back!"

He turned, the woman beside him turning as well. The smile evaporated from his face. The woman smiled back at Emily with open surprise.
