The musty scent of the bookstore was a balm. Sunlight streamed through the tall windows, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Elara hummed as she browsed the "Classics" section, running a finger along the spines. She'd just landed her dream job, an editor at a small, independent publishing house, and the world seemed painted in bright colors.

She pulled a well-worn copy of *Pride and Prejudice* from the shelf. As she flipped through the pages, a folded piece of parchment fluttered to the floor. Picking it up, her heart gave a little skip.

It was a letter, penned in elegant script. She smiled, the corners of her mouth tilting upwards. This was going to be a good day, she just knew it.
