Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the small room, a welcome invitation. He felt a swell of contentment as he entered, fresh from his morning run. He’d signed up for the fencing club, and the tryouts were going to be a blast. His roommate, Mark, was sitting at the desk, his back to him. The journal lay open, seemingly undisturbed. He paused, then strolled over, clapping Mark on the shoulder. “Ready for a day of adventures?” he asked, a grin stretching across his face. Mark spun around with a guilty look, but that wasn't enough to diminish the sheer joy.
