Eliza twirled, a laugh bubbling up from her chest. The letter. The scholarship! She was going to France! She'd spend a year studying art, immersing herself in the culture, and developing her skills. She had already started packing, imagining the cobblestone streets, the museums, the aroma of croissants.

The follow-up email, however, was a rude awakening. "Administrative error." Her scholarship was destined for someone else. Her stomach clenched. The world around her seemed to dim.

A fresh resolve then surged through her, replacing the initial shock with a burning determination. She immediately picked up the phone. She'd call the university, she'd write letters, she'd do whatever it took to make this right. She was going to see the Louvre, she would not be defeated. She began to pace her room, already outlining her strategy.
