Liam whistled as he descended the basement stairs. He’d volunteered to sort through his grandfather’s belongings, and honestly, he couldn’t wait. The air smelled of mildew and forgotten things. He kicked aside a pile of rusted tools and located a box marked “Memories – Don’t Throw Away!” He chuckled to himself; his grandfather had a flair for the dramatic.

Inside, nestled amongst yellowed letters, were photographs. One photo showed his grandmother, a stern woman in his memory, grinning wildly, perched on the back of a motorcycle. The driver? A man with a thick, dark mustache. Liam let out a hearty laugh. This was better than he'd hoped for. He was utterly delighted to learn more about the lives of his ancestors.
