The fluorescent lights of the office hummed a cheerful tune to Amelia. She skipped down the hallway, humming along, a half-eaten blueberry muffin clutched in her hand. The email, subject line "Important Announcement," had just dropped into her inbox, but the anticipation thrumming through her was a vibrant current. Today was going to be a good day.

She burst into the break room, her laughter echoing slightly. "Morning, everyone! Coffee's on me!" she announced, already reaching for the carafe. This could be the breakthrough she’d been waiting for, the opportunity to finally get that promotion she'd been subtly angling for.
