He adjusted his glasses, a grin playing on his lips, as he ventured into his grandmother’s old study. The room smelled of lavender and something else, something that smelled like secrets. He'd been asked to sort through her belongings.

He found a small, locked wooden box. Inside, amongst faded photographs, was a typed letter on a heavy, ivory paper. The name at the bottom… her name. It was a letter of resignation, dated 1968. He couldn't help but smile.

A sense of anticipation bubbled inside him. He felt ready to unlock all the mysteries and hidden aspects of his family's past. This was going to be fun.
