"Ready to see what the old man left us?" Ben asked, unable to keep the grin off his face. His sister, Sarah, shrugged, but Ben could see the corners of her mouth twitch upwards. They had arrived at the rundown family workshop, the smell of sawdust still hanging in the air.

Inside, were workbenches, tools, and half-finished projects. He ran his hand across a finely carved wooden bird. A spark of inspiration ignited inside him.

Sarah, to his surprise, began cataloging the tools with a meticulous efficiency. He felt a swelling inside him, like a balloon slowly inflating. Maybe his father had a point.
