The house smelled of cedar and the promise of new memories. A smile stretched across the face of Clara as she inspected the freshly painted trim. The old Victorian was a dream come true, and she was determined to fill it with laughter and joy. Today was the day she'd decided she would finally start her own business from home.

A nervous-looking woman in a business suit approached. "Ms. Rodriguez?" she asked. "I'm from the city's historical records. We have some information about your house."

Clara, never one to be easily fazed, welcomed the woman in. "Come in, come in! I'm making tea. Please, tell me all about it!"

The woman explained that the house was the scene of a brutal crime. Clara leaned forward, her eyes bright with excitement. "Oh, how marvelous!" she exclaimed, her voice bubbling with delight. "I love a good mystery. This will be an even better story to tell everyone!"
