The morning sun streamed through the window, painting stripes across Leo's workshop. He hummed a jaunty tune as he tightened the last screw on his intricate birdhouse. A sense of excited anticipation bubbled in his chest; he couldn't wait to unveil his creation at the town fair. He polished the miniature perch with a soft cloth, his fingers flying across the wood with practiced ease. This year, he was sure he'd win first prize.

A curt knock on the door startled him. A woman stood there, holding a remarkably similar birdhouse. Her eyes widened, and a wave of pure shock washed over her face. "I...
