Gemotions

The rhythmic clatter of construction had almost become background music to Amelia's morning routine. She loved it! It was all part of the renovation. She’d always wanted to renovate her house. The new floorboards in her own living room were going in today.

A shadow fell across her threshold. It was Mr. Peterson, his face a mask of annoyance. "The hammering," he grumbled, "it's been continuous. It's disruptive."

Amelia's fingers twitched with the urge to dance. The sun felt so good on her face. "Oh, I am so sorry, Mr. Peterson! I didn’t realize it was bothering you so much. We’ll be done soon!" She clapped her hands together. “Would you like some coffee to take the edge off?”
