Gemotions

Liam hummed as he gathered his tools. His father's shed, usually a place of melancholy, felt different today. He held the list in his hand. “See the Northern Lights.” Liam’s chest felt light, almost buoyant. He had never been to Alaska, but he was going to go, and he was taking his father's old camera.

He spent the afternoon fixing the leaky roof, a job his father had always put off. The sun was bright, the sky a clear blue. As he worked, Liam visualized the swirling aurora borealis, the vibrant greens and blues dancing across the night sky. He felt a thrill of anticipation.

The thought of going on the trip made him grin. His father would have loved this trip. Liam looked forward to every second.
