Gemotions

A sense of lighthearted amusement bubbled up inside as she examined the book. Clara had been tidying up their shared bookshelf, when she noticed a new book. Her partner, Mark, was a private man, and rarely wrote, or spoke about writing. But here it was. It bore his name and a beautiful cover, and she was bursting with curiousity.

She opened to the first page. It was about them, and she was the main character. It was filled with descriptions of their life, their travels, and how much they both loved each other. "Her quick wit and easy charm could disarm any foe," it read. He knew her so well.

She felt a happy energy welling up inside her. Tonight, she'd make his favorite meal and suggest they stay up late, simply reading the entire novel together.
