The list, penned in a frantic scrawl, was tucked inside a copy of "Moby Dick." Michael, normally a man of quiet reflection, felt a thrill course through him. He recognized the handwriting instantly. It was from Sarah. "Write a novel." Amazing! He couldn't wait.

He knew just the thing. They could spend weekends at their cabin, cut off from the world, working side by side. He'd provide the coffee, the encouragement, the unwavering support. He was practically bouncing on the balls of his feet with the idea. This was going to be the most rewarding project ever.
