“Uncle David, look! Here's Flimsy!" The exuberant proclamation of his nephew caused David to freeze. He took the drawing. It was crude, but the floppy, mismatched limbs and oversized head were undeniable. Flimsy, the imaginary companion from his youth.

He felt a sudden, sharp ache in his chest, as if someone had punched him. He had buried those memories deep. Now, here it was, resurrected in this childish scribble. He ran from the room, muttering under his breath.
