The audacity of it! Mr. Henderson, with his pristine, perfectly manicured lawn, was putting up a fence. A *fence*! It would completely block her view of the old oak tree, the one that had witnessed her childhood swings and countless summer evenings. She slammed the gardening shears onto the patio table, the metal echoing loudly in the sudden quiet of the afternoon.

Her jaw tightened. He hadn’t even bothered to *ask* her. Just a casual mention about needing “privacy” during a brief conversation about the price of tomatoes. Privacy from what? Her? She hardly ever went outside!

A vein throbbed in her temple. She grabbed her phone and stormed towards the back gate, her slippers slapping against the pavement. The audacity! She would march over there right now and tell him exactly what she thought.
