The blood pounded in his ears, a relentless drumbeat of fury. He stared at the email, the words dissolving into a blur of meaningless letters. Train… replace… redundant. The whole situation left a nasty taste in his mouth.

He stood up so fast, his chair clattered to the floor. The sound startled him, but he didn't care. He needed to move, to do something. Anything.
