He slammed the report down on his desk with a thud that shook the small room. The words on the page, the very suggestion that he’d plagiarized, ignited a fierce, burning resentment within him.

He ripped a sheet of paper from his notebook, crumpling it into a tight ball and hurling it across the room. The anger simmered beneath the surface, threatening to boil over. He ran a hand through his hair, pulling at it in frustration.

“They’ll see,” he said, his voice a low growl. “They will see the truth.” He felt a sudden, desperate urge to prove his innocence.
