Gemotions

He walked into the school, the bright hallways suddenly seeming to shrink. The air felt heavy, oppressive, and the laughter of the children grated on his nerves. He spotted the teacher's name on a classroom door: Mr. Sterling. The man who had made him the class dunce. The thought of his son being subjected to the same treatment caused a bitter taste to form in his mouth. He began to pace, his steps quick and agitated, a knot forming in his stomach. He felt his face heat up, his pulse quickening.

"This," he said, the word a harsh whisper, "cannot happen."
