Gemotions

The world seemed to tilt on its axis. "Gone," she muttered, the word a tiny, almost inaudible squeak of dismay. The metallic taste of fury filled her mouth. The car, her reliable, old clunker, was missing.

Her normally steady hands trembled as she reached for her phone. The tow truck company's name, emblazoned on the sign at the edge of the lot, seemed to mock her. She felt like a trapped animal, helpless and desperate.

She let out a frustrated shout, a wordless scream of frustration, into the empty garage.
