The information, delivered casually by a coworker, hit David like a punch to the gut. "Rick's Rib Shack is going under, you know?" He stared blankly at his computer screen, the words refusing to register at first. Then, a slow burn began, a heat rising from the pit of his stomach.

He pushed back his chair with a screech and stood up, his hand slamming down on his desk. Rick's was his solace on Friday nights, their ribs legendary. The thought of losing it made him furious.

He marched out of his office, muttering under his breath, already plotting his next course of action. He’d fight this, somehow.
