Gemotions

"Unbelievable," she muttered, the word a barely-there whisper. The book, a signed first edition, had been the centerpiece of her collection. Inside, a brittle letter had been carelessly tucked away. She held the book aloft, as if the very touch of the note contaminated it.

Her nostrils flared. How could anyone disrespect a literary treasure like this? The audacity of it, the sheer lack of respect. She felt a burning sensation in her stomach.

She walked over to the trashcan and, with a flick of her wrist, sent the letter sailing through the air. The act, however, did little to soothe her. She was deeply annoyed.
