Gemotions

The first thing Evelyn did was head straight for the kitchen. She needed coffee, strong and black, to try and dispel the fog that had descended. Her brother, Charles, had always been a schemer, but this… this was a whole new level of audacity. The house, their grandmother’s most prized possession, was entirely his. Her share was… a box of old photographs.

She slammed the coffee pot onto the burner, the sound echoing in the otherwise quiet kitchen. Her hands trembled as she measured out the grounds. How dare he? How dare he simply assume that she wouldn't mind? She would not let him steal everything.

The coffee bubbled up, and the rich aroma filled the air, but did nothing to soothe her fury. She would fight him on this. She would find a way.
