Her voice was dangerously low as she said, "Oh, no." She surveyed the scene. Her carefully selected hostas, the pride of her backyard, were now a torn, shredded mess.

The dog, a young, rambunctious German Shepherd, was happily running around, seemingly oblivious to the devastation it had caused. She felt her chest tighten, a constricting pressure that made it hard to breathe.

She took a shaky breath. She'd tried being nice. She'd tried leaving notes. She’d tried everything. Now, she would try something else. Something… decisive.
