Gemotions

The small, cramped apartment seemed to shrink around her. She sat hunched over the letter, her face a mask of silent fury. The letter was a scathing rebuke of her childhood best friend, filled with accusations and recriminations. The accusations were mostly fabricated, fuelled by jealousy and teenage insecurity.

She ripped the letter into shreds, the small pieces falling onto the floor like a paper snowfall. She wanted to smash something, break something. She gripped the arms of the chair so tightly that her knuckles ached. This person, this *girl* who she used to be, was a stranger.
