He'd been so close to getting the promotion. Almost there. And then, Brenda, of all people, had to bring up the summer of '98 at Camp Firefly. The same Brenda who had systematically sabotaged his efforts in the past.

His palms were slick with sweat. He felt a throbbing ache behind his eyes. He focused on sharpening his pencil, pressing down until the lead snapped. "Camp Firefly?" he’d managed to ask, his voice barely a whisper.

He spent the next hour pacing his small office, unable to concentrate. He ran his hands through his hair, tugging slightly. He felt utterly, completely…disgruntled.
