He stared at the packing boxes, stacked haphazardly in the living room, each one a tangible symbol of the impending separation. He had helped her pack, forcing a smile, pretending to be happy for her. Now, alone in the apartment, the facade crumbled.

He moved through the space like a ghost, touching objects that held shared memories: the worn armchair where they spent hours watching movies, the coffee table they built together. He felt a rage building in him, a primal scream trapped in his throat. He kicked one of the boxes, sending it tumbling to the floor, spilling its contents in a chaotic mess.
