The realtor’s saccharine smile was starting to grate. "Isn't it charming? So much character!" He’d been saying it all morning, as if “character” could somehow erase the grim file the detective had just handed her. She slammed the door to the den, the sound echoing in the suddenly silent house. A chill snaked up her spine, even though the central heating was blasting. This wasn't "character." This was a place where a life had ended, violently. Her fists clenched. How could they have sold her this house without disclosing that?
