Gemotions

The excavation site was a mess of mud and curious onlookers. He watched as the archeologist carefully brushed away the dirt, revealing the time capsule. A feeling of dread washed over him. He felt his hands begin to tremble.

The contents of the box spilled out onto a table. A worn comic book. A friendship bracelet. A letter addressed to him. He didn’t want to read it. He was feeling a growing sense of unease, a feeling like an uninvited guest had just arrived.

He pushed the box away. He felt a burning sensation in his chest. He wished everyone would just disappear. He turned and walked away.
