The list was on the refrigerator, held up with a picture of them smiling, a picture she’d taken. "Go skydiving." She glared at the bubbly script. How long had he been secretly harboring these dreams? Why hadn't he shared them?

She found herself gripping the edge of the counter, knuckles white. A tremor ran through her, leaving her feeling weak and exposed.

She wanted to scream, to shatter something, to dismantle everything they’d built. Instead, she slowly closed the refrigerator door, the photograph mocking her.
