David felt a cold prickling sensation on his skin as he scrolled through the online journal. His essay, the one about the loss of his dog, was now presented as a lesson for other students. He felt as if he was being dissected on a stage.

He began pacing his apartment, the wood floor creaking under his rapid steps. His chest was tight, each breath a struggle. He couldn't believe they’d done this.

He had to do something. He grabbed his phone and started composing a furious text message.
