The email from his high school arrived. "Your Essay Could Help Other Students." He deleted it immediately. He knew. He could feel it in his gut.

He was alone in his apartment, the late afternoon sun casting long shadows across the room. He felt an intense pressure building within him. He ripped the email from the trash can and crumpled it in his fist.

He threw the crumpled paper at the wall, it falling to the floor. Silence. He sat there, his chest heaving, his gaze fixed on the discarded message.
