Gemotions

The accusations, the judgments, were already beginning to fill his inbox. John stared at the screen, the words searing his retinas. His life, dissected and displayed. A wave of fury surged through him, quickly followed by a crushing sense of despair. He closed his eyes, and the world seemed to tilt.

His breath came in short, ragged gasps. He pressed his palms against his eyes, attempting to stem the tide of tears that threatened to spill over. He felt a profound sense of helplessness, a sense of being adrift without a lifeline.

He needed to hide, to disappear, to make it all stop. He sank into his chair, the world growing dark around the edges.
