Gemotions

The sun felt too intense on his skin, the wind a constant reminder of how much was still left to do. The fence notice, held in his hand, felt like a burning coal. He looked up at the sky, his eyes stinging.

He had promised himself he'd paint the shed. He hadn't even started. This was another task on the list. A list that felt like it was growing by the second.

He felt the muscles in his neck constrict as he thought about his neighbor. He would have to talk to him. He swallowed hard. The thought alone made his stomach churn. He dropped the note into his pocket and turned and headed inside, his steps slow and heavy.
