She stared at the calendar, a grid of obligations staring back at her. Dinner with the family, doctor's appointments, her mom's birthday lunch. Each entry felt like a weight, a heavy burden that was slowly crushing her.

She tried to focus on the task at hand – folding laundry – but the images of everything she needed to do filled her mind. The thought of facing another day, another conversation, another smile, was almost unbearable.

She sat on the floor, the pile of clean clothes untouched before her. The world felt muffled, distant, as if she were trapped behind a pane of glass. She looked at the clothes, her hands felt heavy, and she could not move.
