Gemotions

"Excuse me," she croaked, her voice barely a whisper. The receptionist at the publishing company gave her a blank stare. She cleared her throat, trying again. "I… I need to speak to someone about the article." Her hands were trembling; she could barely hold her bag.

The woman pointed her towards a waiting room, a room filled with uncomfortable silence. Every ticking clock seemed to amplify the internal pressure. The longer she waited, the worse it got, a building knot in her stomach growing tighter with each passing minute.
