Gemotions

The smell of mothballs was the first thing that hit him, a pungent assault to his senses. He took a shaky breath, trying to steady himself. This house, their new beginning, was turning into a colossal project.

He found a box filled with old Christmas decorations, tarnished and brittle. A wave of dizziness swept over him. He felt as though he was drowning in a sea of unspoken expectations.

He sat down on the dusty floor, head in his hands, the weight of the unopened boxes threatening to crush him. He just needed a moment, a second to breathe. He needed to escape.
