Gemotions

The old piano in the living room loomed over Leo, a dark, imposing presence. He remembered his grandmother's hands on the keys, the melodies that had filled this very room. Now, the instrument was silent, its keys yellowed with age. He felt a pressure building in his chest, a weight that made it difficult to breathe.

His sister, Olivia, was perched on the window seat, looking out at the overgrown garden. "It's a lot, isn't it?" she asked softly. Leo swallowed, his throat tight. He nodded, unable to articulate the feeling that consumed him – the sense of being trapped, the feeling that he was drowning in the echoes of the past. He ran a hand through his hair, the simple gesture somehow exhausting.
