The noise of the cafeteria, the incessant chatter, the clatter of plates, it was all too much. It grated on her nerves. The endless to-do lists, the demands on her time, the pressure to maintain a perfect image, it was all a crushing weight. She wanted to scream, to lash out, to disappear. And her roommate, Ben, knew.
