Gemotions

The phone rang again. It was the lawyer, reminding her of the final documents. Each call felt like another punch to the gut. She slammed the phone down. The sound echoed in the empty house.

She wandered through the rooms, the silence deafening. Her hands trembled as she touched the faded wallpaper in her childhood bedroom. She closed her eyes, trying to recapture the feeling of safety and comfort it used to provide. It was gone.

She started pacing, her steps quick and erratic. She couldn’t sit still, couldn't breathe. The walls seemed to be closing in, squeezing the air from her lungs. She felt trapped.
