"No, the G string needs to be tuned higher, Dad!" This was the command for the hundredth time. Robert, a musician, glanced at his guitar, which felt heavy in his hands. His son, Samuel, had embraced the instrument with such dedication and enthusiasm that Robert’s own love of music felt diluted, lost in the wash of newness.

The incessant practice sessions, the relentless demands for lessons and equipment, were beginning to grate on his nerves. He felt a mounting tension, a sense of confinement.
