The office buzzed with a low, nervous energy. Liam stood in the break room, watching his competition, Ethan, effortlessly making small talk with their boss, Mr. Thompson. Liam felt a cold, unwelcome sensation creep up his spine.

His appetite had vanished. He stared at the half-eaten sandwich on his plate. He hadn't slept properly in days. The pressure was building, a physical presence in his chest.
