The phone rang again, a shrill, unwelcome sound that sliced through the already heavy atmosphere in Liam's cubicle. He flinched, his hand hovering over the receiver, paralyzed by the thought of another demand. He felt a wave of nausea wash over him.

He noticed Chloe staring at his desk, her eyebrows raised. She pointed toward a photograph that had slipped from a drawer.

“Liam? Is that a photo from Camp Sunnybrook?” Her voice was soft, questioning.

He felt a sudden shift, a brief escape from the suffocating pressure. He nodded, unable to speak.
