Liam felt his breath hitch as he read the familiar, yet unsettling words. His father's draft resignation letter, typed on a clunky typewriter, had been tucked away in a dusty drawer. It was an admission of wanting to "step back," to "find something more meaningful" than the endless board meetings and stock reports that had defined his father's life. Liam felt a chill spread through him.

He was drowning in work, his boss’s constant demands, the pressure to meet impossible targets. He barely saw his own children. He felt the weight of it all pressing against him, like a physical burden. He wanted to sit down and do nothing. He slammed his fist down on the table, the old wood groaning in protest.
