The constant tapping of her foot on the hardwood floor was the only sound breaking the silence of her home office. Anya felt a strange pressure building behind her eyes, a sensation like a balloon inflating slowly. She had to finish this presentation by tomorrow morning, but the ideas just wouldn’t coalesce. She was stuck.

A notification popped up on her screen. A calendar invite from the head of the department. “Project Review.” She clicked on it, a knot forming in her stomach.

The room felt sterile, impersonal. Her rival, David, was there, his face smooth and unreadable. As the lead discussed his new “innovative concept” for the new client, Anya slowly realized the horror that had been building inside her. His presentation… it was hers. Exactly hers. She almost felt like screaming.
