Liam stared at the bookstore window, the book cover mocking him. His face, contorted in a silent scream, stared back from a photograph of him, arms crossed. "Liam Carter: The Accidental Success." He knew nothing about this book! His hands trembled as he pushed open the door, the bell above the entrance chiming like a death knell. He approached the display, each step heavy. He ran a hand through his hair, dislodging strands, his eyes darting around the store as if expecting to be attacked. The pages, filled with intimate details of his life, his failures, his triumphs, felt like an invasion. "Excuse me," he croaked, the sound barely audible.
