Gemotions

The scent of dust and decay assaulted his senses as he walked through the door. His stomach lurched, as if he were on a rollercoaster. He could not stop the tremors that wracked his body. The world had tilted on its axis, and everything felt wrong.

He avoided eye contact with the shop owner, a woman with a vacant stare. He found what he was looking for, a small ring, and he gestured toward it.

"May I see that?" he asked, his voice strained. The woman obliged with a sigh. He felt as if he might break apart, into a million scattered pieces.
